London always gives me a reason to say yes, but this trip gave me one I will treasure for a long time.
Variety brought its Power of Women event to London for the first time, and I had the joy of hosting a table. From the moment guests arrived, the evening carried that unmistakable energy that happens when talented, driven, and creative people gather in one room. The cocktail mixer set the tone right away. People mingled, laughed, caught up, introduced themselves, and filled the room with an excited buzz.
The honored guests alone made the night feel special: Cynthia Erivo, Emilia Clarke, Emma Corrin, Suki Waterhouse, Hannah Waddingham, and Dame Joan Collins. Each woman brought her own presence, story, and purpose to the evening. To hear strong women in entertainment speak about their passion, their work, and the causes they support was a reminder to me of why events like the Variety Power of Women matter. They celebrate success, but they also shine a light on purpose, generosity, and the impact people can make when they use their platforms well.
Ania Magliano hosted the evening, and she absolutely delivered. She kept the room laughing, moved the program along with confidence, and brought the perfect balance of wit and warmth. Hosting an event with that many remarkable women in the room takes skill, and Ania made it look effortless.
I also lucked out with wonderful guests at my table. We laughed, talked, enjoyed the program, and took in the whole experience together.
The dinner matched the evening perfectly. Every course looked artistic and tasted delicious. I always appreciate food that feels considered without trying too hard and the menu captured that balance beautifully. It enhanced the sense that there was intention behind everything about the evening.
One of my favorite moments came when Hannah and Ania graciously stopped for selfies with me. I know photos only capture a second, but those pictures will help me hold onto the feeling of the night: the laughter, the conversations, the elegance, the inspiration, and the sheer fun of being there.
I left the Variety Power of Women Dinner grateful, inspired, and a little in awe. Not because the night felt out of reach, but because it reminded me how much beauty exists in showing up, connecting with people, supporting meaningful causes, and celebrating women who follow their passions with conviction.
After the dinner, we turned the trip into a short London getaway, which made the whole experience even sweeter. We enjoyed a Peter Pan-inspired afternoon tea at the Aqua Shard, saw two West End shows—Hercules and The Producers—spent a day shopping, and explored the Victoria and Albert Museum.
London gave us theatre, tea, art, fashion, and a room full of inspiring women celebrating creativity, courage, and impact. It truly was an unforgettable night, and I feel so grateful I had the chance to attend.
